DISTRICT FAIR AT HOPE

You can't win them all....The girls are always dissapointed if they don't take the Grand Champion Awards when they enter. But BAD JUDGE is the only explanation I could come up with. Sheyanne said she thought he was a goat judge. Poor man was so hot and had so many cattle to judge he just had to make a few mistakes....Acturally they got first place in their breed but ONLY got Reserve Champion for their bull and heifer. Then in showmanship the judge narrowed the twenty down to three and both girls were in the top three, in their age group, but failed to make the top spot. Bah humbug!!!

Sheyanne's boyfriend, Zack, is learning the ropes of cattle showing. It is all new to him and you can tell he is having so much fun watching the girls scoop up cow poop, wash and blow dry their animals and then wait, wait, wait, until they are ready to show.

The AR State Fair is next on the agenda and that will be the end of Sheyanne's being able to show. I'm not sure if she will celebrate or be sorry...we will see.

THE NEW MAN IN SHEYANNE'S LIFE

This is Sheyanne's boyfriend, Zack. He is a sophomore at UACCH, works at a Mexican restaurant and lives with his grandmother. His parents are from Prescott. (I like him.)

When he found out I had a blog he asked if he was on it and I said, "No!" I told him Sally and Okie were on it but not him so I'm taking care of that tonight. Welcome to my blog, Zack!

GIRL'S NIGHT OUT

On Thursday, Sept. 18th six of us had a "Girl's Night Out." We left shortly after school was dismissed and traveled to the 4:30 p.m. movie in Texarkana. We saw The Women and later had supper at the FlatIron Grill. Donna Grady, Nancy Alsabrook, Maxine Story, Julia Moore, Iris Stokes and I had a wonderful time. We had one major mishap...Donna's favorite shoes broke and she had to hobble into the restaurant. She decided to walk bare footed as we exited the restaurant. We enjoyed a good movie, good food and good stories during our night out. (Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects.)

MADASAN WINS AT THE FOUR STATES FAIR

Madasan with Okie
Madasan and Sally
Madasan took her animals to the Four States Fair in Texarkana. Her show was on Sept. 12. Her Maine Anjou heifer and bull won Grand Champion. She entered Jr. Showmanship with approximately twenty 9-12 year old boys and girls and came out the winner. She did such a great job.
