Do you think my butt is too big?
One of my tricks is to stand in my food.My name is Oakie. I am a 1,900 pound Maine Anjou bull that belongs to Madasan. She has had me since I was about four months old and I am now nearly two years old.
I really have a cushy life. I am fed the best food so that my muscles will develop just right. I get regular grooming. Madasan bathes me and uses the blow dryer to dry me off…I love it. Before a big show Alan comes up and gives me a hair cut and trims what needs to be trimmed.
My last show season started last night. I made Madasan so proud with my performance. We entered the local county fair and I won Grand Champion Bull, Supreme Bull and helped Madasan win Showmanship in her age group. I held my head high and did exactly what Madasan wanted me to do. That judge was so impressed with Madasan for entering Showmanship showing a BIG bull.
Now I know I looked really good but let me tell you about that Madasan. She had that long blond hair all fluffed up and looked pretty spiffy herself. She made me so proud. I really like that girl. When I am out in the pasture I don’t like for the others to put the halter on me but Madasan just walks out and I can’t wait to put my head in the halter. I guess you could say I love that girl. I let her sit on my back, I lift my leg up if she scratches me in just the right spot and I always try to be on my best behavior with her. (Not so much with the others.)
I get a little jealous at times because Madasan has two horses that take up a little bit too much of her time. She has to practice on them much more than I have to practice and they take her off to Rodeos nearly every weekend. Now, that doesn’t seem fair to me because after all I am the one that is winning the awards.
Well I plan on keeping her busy for a while. We are leaving the county fair and going to the Four States Fair on Monday. Madasan won the Calf Scramble down there last year and won money to buy a calf. She has groomed that little heifer and will also show her in their show. I just hope I make her happy with my performance…I don’t know about that feisty little heifer.
Our next adventure will be to participate in the District Fair and then on to the AR State Fair. I helped Madasan get into the Purple Circle Club last year and am hoping I can get her there again this year. If we succeed that will be her fourth year to win this honor. That is the top honor in the State Fair.
At the completion of this season I will be retired. I will become one of the heard bulls on the Broken M Farm. I’m looking forward to this new life but will miss all of the tender loving care I receive as a show bull. Maybe I can help produce a few little ones that will be winners.

I LOVE this story, and I'm glad that he's going to be "retiring" to a farm where he can do what bulls do best. I was afraid the story was going to end with him being steak.
