DOWN IN MY WOODS

MADASAN AND SHEYANNE
Sheyanne has returned to UACCH for her second year. She is taking 16 hours and commuting. She doesn’t have classes on Tuesday and Thursday but Monday’s schedule is a tough one. She has class from 10:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. and then goes back for class at 7:00 until 10:00.

Madasan went into the eighth grade. She has a good schedule and is enjoying junior high so much better than I thought she would. She loves basketball and really likes her new basketball coach.

Suzanne and the girls are going to rodeo’s nearly every weekend since Madasan is running barrels, poles and occasionally ropes. Madasan’s dad got her some calves to practice roping. They got Holstein calves because they are supposed to make good roping calves. Fair season is coming up so that means her schedule is really going to be crowded.

Suzanne and Brett now have chickens and have started getting eggs. They have two layer houses and manage two other layer houses for a neighbor.

My brother Ronnie had a stroke and stayed in the hospital for twenty-six days. He returned home and is receiving physical therapy at home. The stroke caused his left leg to quit working properly. He is mostly confined to a wheel chair. The doctor told him he would have to reprogram his brain. He is gradually learning to walk again but still must use a walker.

My life is pretty drab these days. I get my hair fixed on Friday and have lunch with four of my friends. We usually sit around and talk for an hour or two and then I often go to Nashville or DeQueen for some shopping. What a life!
