AR STATE FAIR-2008

Zack, Sheyanne, Brett, Meme, Madasan, Kolby
Zack and Sheyanne chowing down.

All of the kids that show Maine Anjou and Maintainer cattle at the AR State Fair.

Sheyanne showing Romeo, her big Maintainer bull. This is the last year for these two to show.

Alan, Madasan, Sheyanne and Okie in the winner's circle. Okie won Grand Champion and put Madasan in the Purple Circle Club for the third year.

Another show season is over and when Madasan and Brett return from Little Rock on Saturday their show cattle will be turned out to join the other cattle on the Broken M Farm. Sally won the open Maine Anjou show at the AR Fair. She is already expecting a little one and should enjoy leaving the show ring. Sally put Madasan in the Purple Circle last year.
*
Romeo will retire from the show ring to join the Maine Anjou and Maintainer heifers in the back field. He plans on giving Oscar some competition. (I wonder what happens when you get too many show bulls and need to sell one???)
*
Oakie won the open Maine Anjou Bull Show and he will return next year to try to get his second Purple Circle Award.
*
After you turn these show cattle out to pasture they start looking pretty drab. Without all of the petting, pampering and expensive feed they start looking like the other cattle. They never forget the thrill of being special because all Madasan has to do is walk out in the field and Oscar comes jogging to her. She loves her Oscar and he loves her. Her heifers come looking for her too but Oscar is really the special one.
